• Insuring two mobile phones

I have two mobile phone contracts, but my boyfriend uses one of them (they are both under my name).

I know I can't insure someone else's stuff, but as both phones are under my name and paid for by me, would I be able to insure both phones in my stuff?

    A conundrum indeed!

Great question @Winkamon and not necessarily an obvious one to answer!

I actually had to double check with the underwriting team on this one, but as the contract is in your name, you would still be financially liable in the event of the phone being lost or stolen, and therefore you would be able to insure both phones on your policy.

If the contract for the second phone was in your boyfriend's name, then he would require his own policy.

    Hope that makes sense

  • @Winkamon hello and welcome

Yes this is a conundrum indeed.

My first question would be, does he think the phone is his?

i.e. when you bought the phone did you buy it for him?

May seem a bit silly but it should help get you an answer

  • Interesting conundrum this one. I have a question back to you @Oracle.

What's the difference between buying a phone and owning it? Does not paying for a phone device make you the official owner?

    Actually those were two questions
